Sarah kate Tavernese...

Studied English and sociology at the University at Albany, SUNY, with no college or high school art class experience, completely self-taught. Sarah Kate has frequently painted acrylic abstract and fluid since high school, but has become much more involved since college. Her biggest art inspirations are Manlio Rho and Lana Gomez. Her work is often energized by the literature she is reading or works she feels is influential. Her favorite works include both critical, theoretical, life writing and fictional; including Edgar Allan Poe, Alice Walker, Ernest Hemingway, Michel Foucault, Toni Morrison, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Herman Melville, Jane Austen, and many more.  She paints for pure enjoyment and typically as an escape for the mind and soul. She has considered careers in painting, but unsure if it is the right choice. Sarah Kate is currently not represented by any gallery.
