The Ending of the Beginning

You can only be newlywed for so long.

You can only be a noobie for so many levels.

You can only be an apprentice until you learn your craft.

Eventually...

You must move up.

You must move on.

You must move over.

Every beginning

has an ending,

so the next beginning

can start.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow I will go back to the world of responsibility--

tomorrow I will sit and I will work.

Tomorrow I will do all the things I am supposed to...

but not today.

Today I will cavort and dance...

today I will sing along while favorites sing...

today I will take the day to myself...

but not tomorrow.

Tomorrow the child I want to be

will be the adult I am required to be--

but not today.
