Untitled from the Roses

By Eva. J Tortora

I remember love

like a second skin

on cold winter days

you lit the fire within

I remember love

like a watchdog, a storm

in the cold long nights

your words kept me warm

I remember love

like a dream catcher spinning around

a call for mercy

your words falling down

I remember love

like a wolf, a gift

we danced the tango

before your words would shift

I remember love

like a march, a parade

a windy,stormy day

a traveling Wednesday

I remember love

like a watermelon sundae

you were so many patterns

bright like checkers or sharades

I remember love

your heart your skin

maybe it wont rain

but i have you to hide in

and light me up from within.
